It was a great Thanksgiving weekend on the island. The weather was warm on Thursday and then it dropped to a seasonal temperature. There were many family gatherings and the museum held a very successful trail clearing event on Friday afternoon which was followed by Fishers Island Oysters and drinks. The leaves were still falling and some of the colors were beyond spectacular. With the leaves dropped unfortunately this also meant one could see the litter in the bushes. My family went for an afternoon walk after a great Turkey lunch to Isabella Beach, where the kids actually went swimming..., and I noticed so much filth on the path that we went back on Friday and picked up three trash bags of litter... The kids could not figure out who or why anyone would intentionally make such a mess.
